SUV (sport utility vehicle) is a general marketing term for a vehicle identical to station wagon, but designed and engineered on light truck chassis. It is typically equipped with an all wheel drive system designed for off or on road capabilities and with couple of pretension to be used as off-road car. Not all four-wheel drive vehicles are known as sport utility vehicle. There are some SUVs that provide pickup truck towing capacity with passenger carrying space of large saloon or minivan. Since sport utility vehicles are considered as light duty trucks in the market and share the platform of pickup trucks. The term is not used in all nations, some of them called it as off-road vehicle, some as four-wheel drive vehicle or some as 4x4 vehicle.

SUV cars are all about utility. They are ideal if you drive in unreliable weather and road conditions or usually carry a mix of cargo and passengers. Usually, sport utility vehicles provide raised ground clearance; spacious cargo bay and either two-wheel drive system or four-wheel drive system. Many of the sport utility vehicles are engineered with engine compartment, cargo compartment and combined compartment. They are quite famous for their ground clearance, high H-point and upright boxy body.
